Sacrificial princess?

It’s interesting to note how the controversy surrounding Elizabeth Matthews' appointment to the C-NLOPB has overshadowed the tobacco suit the provincial Tory administration handed to Roebothan, McKay and Marshall.

The position at the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board — a job competition that Matthews has since withdrawn from — paid almost $200,000 a year.

The tobacco suit could be worth in the vicinity of $300 million.

Is the "little princess" being sacrificed on the alter of political patronage?
